Highlands Art Market
I will be participating in the Afternoon with the Arts at the Highland at Dove Mountain. I will have my ceramic owls on site, as well as selected prints and cards.
THE EXOTIC SUBLIME treading softly
Tohono Chul presents The Exotic Sublime treading softly exhibit featuring the creatures that walk above and below the earth in the Sonoran Desert. The exhibit runs from May 16, 2024 through August 5, 2024. The artists reception is on the opening day from 5:30pm - 8:00pm.
I will have the pen and ink with watercolor version of “Dreaming of Pinkies” on display in this exhibit.
Tohono Chul is located at 7366 Paseo del Norte in Tucson, AZ. Admission is free during the artists reception.
Uncommon Knowledge Art Exhibition
The Southern Arizona Arts and Cultural Alliance, in partnership with Roche Tissue Diagnostics, is hosting an exhibit of works inspired by employees of Roche that have been impacted by cancer and other diseases.
The exhibit runs from the opening reception on September 21st through the end of this year. I am excited to be participating in this project and will have original works on display that represent the two patient/employees with whom Erika Segura and I have been paired.
This exhibit includes literary and visual artwork. Erika is the literary artist and I am the visual.
The opening reception is the best time to view this exhibit as all other viewings are made by appointment only. Attending the reception requires registration. If you are interested in attending, reach out to me and I will send you the link once it is created.
The reception is being held at Roche Tissue Diagnostics’ galleries on campus at 1910 Innovation Park Drive, Oro Valley, AZ 85755.
“Mythical Landscape: Secrets of the Vale” Exhibit at Knoxville Museum of Art
In September of 2022, Angela participated in a collaborative collage artist residency in Sanquhar, Scotland. Artists were asked to create collages to illustrate the text of William Wilson’s 1904 book, Folk Lore and Genealogies of Uppermost Nithsdale. Angela’s piece, “Witnesses” illustrates the story of the Sanquhar Castle Spectre and will be included in the publication of the book, which is due out in April 2023.
“Mythical Landscape: Secrets of the Vale” is the exhibit of the original artwork chosen to illustrate the book. It is on display at the Knoxville Museum of Art from March 17, 2023 to May 28, 2023.
Artist Reception takes place on March 19, 2023 from 2:30 - 4:00PM, and includes a Curator’s Talk, presented by Ric Kasini Kadour.
Afternoon With The Arts
Join some of the wonderfully talented artists in our community for an afternoon celebrating art. This event is open to the public and many beautiful pieces are for sale.
Angela will be promoting her watercolor work with prints and cards of her work available.
TAKE WING
Angela has 4 watercolor paintings of butterflies on display at The Highlands clubhouse. Located at 4949 W. Heritage Club Blvd, Marana, AZ 85658. This exhibit runs the month of October.
TOHONO CHUL
The Elements: Fire Exhibit. Angela has An Insect on Fire: The Iron Cross Blister Beetle, a pen and ink drawing on display in this exhibit, which runs until November 9, 2022.
Collage Artist Residency: Scotland
Angela will be participating in Collage Artist Residency: Scotland, which takes place for one week in Sanquhar, Scotland. This is an opportunity to work with other artists to create collages that illustrate the history and folklore of the region.
The work will be exhibited at MERZ Gallery as part of “Mythical Landscape: Secrets of the Vale”, an exhibition by an international group of artists.
The artwork will be the subject of a film by David Rushton and used to illustrate a forthcoming version of William Wilson’s 1904 book, Folk Lore and Genealogies of Uppermost Nithsdale. From Merz the exhibit will travel to the Knoxville Museum of Art, where it will be on display from March 10 - May 28, 2023.
The Elements - Fire
An Insect on Fire: The Iron Cross Blister Beetle, a pen and ink drawing by Angela, will be part of the Tohono Chul Gallery Exhibit, The Elements - Fire. The exhibit runs from August 25-November 9th. Please join Angela at the Artist’s Reception on August 25th from 5:30-8:00 pm.
Ribbons of White
The Southern Arizona Arts & Cultural Alliance and Roche Tissue Diagnostics are proud to announce Ribbons of White, an art exhibition to benefit the El Rio Health Center Foundation’s cancer treatment fund and elevate awareness of lung cancer in the U.S. The virtual show will run from November 2021 through early February 2022.
